Days Like This 2010

Days Like This! 2010 was an absolute corker. Timmy B (from cardboardkids.net) came along and brought his new 500D with him - great camera on a budget.

With the likes of Cat Power, Young Einstein and Dizzy from Ugly Duckling, Free beers and a whole heap of good company the day ended on a somewhat blurry note - Can't wait to do it all next year.

Kudos to James and Damien for another successful festival.

Bondi FM / Onur's 28th / Nat's 23rd

Last night we packed Stefan's car full of people and drove out to Bondi FM - this cool little bar / live radio station on the east side of town. The best part about the whole night was the summer heat, the good company (Stefan Hunt, Stefan Wigand, Nat DW) and the amazing ride we drove down in.

We welcome the 1968 VW Type 3 Squareback to the family. What a great night to break the fucker in. Happy 23rd Birthday Nat.

Let The Beat Build

I'm so into this. Stefan from Surfing 50 States / SNT brought this to my attention yesterday and i think i've watched it about 45 times by now.

Shot in a single sequence (took them 13 times to get it right) Nyle and his music school buddies record this clip. Starts out a bit cheesy but end's up epic. Watch out for the violin chicks.

Teenagersintokyo "Black Bones"

You know a band is getting good when they stop appearing in their own film clips. The slow-focused video, similar in style to the Preset's "This Boys in Love" clip, is a step up in production value from their last clip 'Very Vampyr' filmed low budget on hi-8.

I was a bit disappointed not to see the band in the clip BUT i rate it none the less. My two cents.

AGDA presents

The DEUS / AGDA talk was on Monday evening.

Carby, Deus creative head honcho showed everyone the jewel's of his creative upbringing and spoke of graphic design the real way - paying homage to the original Mad Men and hand worked techniques that in this modern Macintosh age have surely been forgotten.

More info here.

PRESSURE

Lately I put a bit too much in and everything ended up turning to shit. I'm pretty sure they are aware also, and that's the harsh reality of it all.

I'm not a fan of being erased, and neither do I like pouring my all into something that's not worth doing.

To the left - Keep an eye out for the KAWS masterpiece.

The PK Ripper

Over the past few days Mitch Lyne and I have been really into our new fixed gear bicycles.

I got hooked up with a new SE / DC colab edition bicycle from a good mate, and have been riding it senseless. Mitch and I chopped the bars and peeled off the horrible decals to reveal a pretty sweet ride.

Let's Get Mystical

On September 11th I'll be heading over to New York for fashion week. For the trip i've managed to grab myself a Canon 5D MKI from Hollywood, although what i really want to take is the new MKII.

The teaser for the Mutiny Bikes "Let's Get Mystical" is filmed in part using one. Guess what scenes they are amongst the Spoke Jones esk titles.

Stefan and the Swapmeet

Here's a photo of Stefan from Le Piste Resistance gunning his little legs for victory at the roller races on Saturday. Piero and Stefan put in the hard yards to get this thing a-float and it certainly paid off.

I came around 3 o'clock to a packed carpark full of swap and sell enthusiasts. Looking forward to the next one in two months time.

More photos via Carby here.
